What is a caricature?
A caricature is a portrait that deliberately exaggerates a person’s most characteristic features, usually for humor. Caricature has a long history in art and satire, and today street-fair artists draw friendly versions with big heads and wide grins. Unlike a cartoon, which simplifies a whole face, a caricature amplifies what makes one face unique.

What does the caricature look like?
The caricature looks like the work of a skilled street-fair artist: a big head on a small body, your most distinctive features exaggerated in a flattering, good-humored way, a wide signature smile, your own hairstyle, hair color, skin tone and clothing colors, clean ink lines with soft painted colors, and a plain warm cream background. It is never mocking or grotesque.
