What is the difference between an emoji and an emoji-style avatar?
An emoji is a small pictograph, such as a smiling face, that is encoded as a character in the Unicode standard so it can be typed and sent in text. An emoji-style avatar is a picture drawn in the same cute, rounded look but based on a real person. This effect makes that picture; it cannot add a new character to your phone’s emoji keyboard.

What does the emoji avatar look like?
The emoji avatar is a cute 3D render: a rounded, glossy head and shoulders, big expressive eyes, a big happy smile and simplified features, with your face shape, hairstyle, hair color, skin tone, outfit colors and glasses or facial hair, centered on a plain soft yellow gradient background like an app icon. It is not the avatar style of any company.
